Trusted Friend

Each and everyone of us
knows someone we can trust
someone that made the problems go away
someone who helped us make our great escape
a good friend that made you feel
so much better and so much more real
they'd say what you thought blurting out every word
he'd acknowledge how you felt nomatter how absurd
they'd bring you down off the chemical highs
and made you question the traditional lies
all the rules and on how a man was to act and how to talk
simply because that was how your parents were brought up
to me this was my brother from now to the end
and he would always be my most trusted friend
